What antivirus should I use?

I know you’re wondering why you keep getting the same virus attacks after you clean out your computer? Its simple, if that’s happening to you then the most reasonable thing is that your antivirus software is crap. So what you need to do is to change your choice of protection software. Now this brings me to another question that I’ve been asked for a while now. What is the best antivirus to use? My answer is persistently the same. Theres is no antivirus on the planet that will protect you 100% from every cyber attack out there, but theres’ some that have better features than others. With that said, the main ones that should be kept in mind are what type of protection they offer, how much protection, how often will it update to protect against newly created viruses, and also, how much will my computer slow down by when it gets installed? There are many different choices out there. Some free and a couple more premium antivirus’s, but remember you pretty much get what you pay for and I would say that after considering the features mentioned to you it all depends on preference and budget. If you would like to know more info or help on deciding which antivirus to use, feel free to contact us by visiting to our contact tab and dropping a line or two. Oh and by the way beware of those fake antivirus’s out there too! lol

Windows 7 is taking over the market. Not so good for XP lovers!

According to StatCounter, it’s taken roughly two years for Redmond’s latest to surpass XP and become the world’s most popular operating system. October 2011 marks the first time that Windows 7 has overtaken XP globally, with a 40 percent share of the market versus the latter’s 38. As for Vista, it’s been holding steady at around 11. Not that it’s much of a surprise, as in North America, Windows 7 took the crown back in April of this year. Rounding out the top five, are OS X (though it’s not clear whether that captures all of Cupertino’s beasts) and Linux, which come in at 7 and 0.82 percent respectively. But don’t take our word for it, hop on over to the source links and get your interactive chart on.

iOS5 is here and better than ever, but still jailbroken!

Apple is stating that the iOS5 has been upgraded with over 200 new features. I guess it will up to you to decide.

One of the most noticeable is the Notification Center. You get all kinds of notifications on your iOS device: new email, texts, friend requests, and more. With Notification Center, you will be able to keep track of them all in one convenient location. Just swipe down from the top of any screen to enter Notification Center. Choose which notifications you want to see. New notifications appear briefly at the top of your screen, without interrupting what you’re doing. And the Lock screen now  displays notifications so you can act on them with just a swipe, which seems pretty neat.Another great new feature added is the iMessage app. It is a new iOS5 isolated message app that allows you to message with other iOS5 users for free over 3g or wifi. You can send unlimited messages, pictures, videos, locations, and contacts. This app can be used on any iPhone, iPad, or iPod with the new operating system. Newsstand has been added for the e-readers out there as well. It organizes your magazine and newspaper app subscriptions and acts as a folder that lets you access your favorite publications quickly and easily. There’s also a new place on the App Store just for newspaper and magazine subscriptions. And you can get to it straight from Newsstand. New purchases go directly to your Newsstand folder. Then, as new issues become available, Newsstand automatically updates them in the background, complete with the latest covers. Twitter support for sharing your daily experiences with your family and friends has been added with iOS5. Sign in once in Settings, and you can tweet directly from Safari, Photos, Camera, YouTube, or Maps. You can also now access the camera app right from the lock screen which is a feature i found pretty handy. More Photos enhancements has been added like crop, rotate, and red eye removal. Safari has also been updated .On iPad, tabbed browsing helps you keep track of multiple web pages and switch between them with ease. iOS 5 improves Safari performance on all your iOS devices. Apple is claiming that with ith iOS 5, you no longer need a computer to own an iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. You will be able Activate and set up your device wirelessly, right out of the box. Download free iOS software updates directly on your device. Do more with your apps, like editing your photos or adding new email folders on your device, without the need for a Mac or PC, back up and restore your device automatically using iCloud. We have only gone over 9 new features offered by the iOS5 firmware so that means you have 191 that you can explore for yourself. Cant wait to get my update!!!!!!

UPDATE: Within 24 the iOS5 firmware has been jailbroken and exploited. Limera1n still lives. lol So yea, you can still install 3rd party apps through Cydia….Enjoy!

The iPad2 will bring more joy in talking with family and friends with the two built in cameras and FaceTime, but you’ll still need Wi-Fi for that. Plus the back camera will record video in HD 720p resolution up to 30 frames per second.

The biggest thing to boast about in the iPad2 is definitely the A5 dual core processor chip which means it can now do twice the work at once. Major differences will be noticeable when surfing the web, watching movies, making FaceTime video calls, gaming and switching between apps. This is a great advantage when multitasking and running high resource demanding apps. This is a big booster for the graphics which will have 9 times the performance over the first generation with a smoother and more realistic gameplay. All this while still keeping a 10 hour battery life!!! Your wallet wont be stuffed for long because the new iPad2 will be released at Apple stores and Best Buy’s starting March 11th with the price tag starting at $499.

Verizon iPhone finally here!

The moment you’ve all been waiting for. Yes, thats right, the iPhone is now being offered by Verizon in both 16gb and 32gb. Theres almost no difference in the specs between the ATT iPhone and the Verizon iPhone other than that now Verizon is offering the device on the CDMA EV-DO (800,1900 MHz)  network.

The overall design is somewhat different, the ringer switch has been moved closer to the volume rocker and the gap at the top of the 3.5 jack is moved to the side of the device. Of course this means no “death grip” on Verizon, sorry ATT!

Personal Hot-Spot is featured on the Verizon iPhone which allows users to support WiFi connections of up to 5 devices. iPhone’s on Verizon network are running on iOS 4.2.6 compared to ATT which runs on iOS 4.2.1. No major difference other than the CDMA and Hot-Spot support. CDMA iPhone is not capable of doing voice and data at the same time, in other words your gps navigation will have to pause when your getting a new call. better hope your exit is not coming up!

Update: Even though Verizon is growing their LTE 4G network, their iPhone will not be any part of that. Its going to stay behind on the 3G network!
